My Closed Brookfield Sales:

Brookfield, IL is located right in between my office in downtown La Grange, IL and Riverside, IL, my hometown and heart of my real estate business. It is very familiar territory for me. Parts of Brookfield share a school district with Riverside, the "Hollywood" area in particular, so we have good friends in this community, and my family and I are frequent visitors. Brookfield is almost certainly best known for its Zoo, which is definitely worth the trip if you have never been there. Living close by you get to wander the zoo at times that are less busy, and sometimes this gives you a chance to interact more with the animals. Try to visit the snow leopards on a quiet Winter afternoon if you can - they may want to play.  Holiday Magic is also a tradition for us - the lights in the Winter are beautiful - and it is fun to get hot chocolate and sing carols to the camels (you know they appreciate it). But the Zoo is a pleasant experience in every season.

Brookfield seems to have more than its share of good "Pub and Grub" establishments - The Grand Tavern, Irish Times and Off Broadway are favorites of ours - good for a meal, a drink with friends, or sometimes to catch a live band. Also, Brookfield has a number of separate business districts and corridors, along Odgen Ave. (our cats "love" Merrick Animal Hospital), along 31st St. (the Clark gas station there is often one of the cheapest around), a few businesses like Swan Cleaners along 47th st., and then the Village centers, around 8 corners (my family patronizes Tischler Finer Foods) and near the Brookfield Metra line station where you can find among other things Burger Antics (gourmet burgers, craft beers and whiskey) and Paisans Pizzaria.

Triva: It has been speculated that Brookfield's eight corners may have made it into L. Frank Baum's fifth Oz book, "The Road to Oz". The author lived in Chicago at the time and probably visited the new community of Grossdale as Brookfield was then known. But it is impossible to say if this was really the inspiration for the pinwheel of roads encountered in that book.

8 corners?

Brookfield is primarily a middle-class residential community, and if you are thinking of moving to Brookfield than the Village of Brookfield's page is definitely worth your time to view. It has links to schools, a new residents guide, links to the Chamber of Commerce, the library (my girls like their anime collection) and more. And if you do decide to buy a home then my team can help you, starting with mortgage pre-approval, through finding the perfect home for you, and then finally closing the deal, and getting you the best price possible. Or, if you are looking to sell a home - then you've come to the right place. I have more tools in my toolbox for selling homes than anyone else locally. You can read more about that here. Or read some of my Great reviews here. Please contact me soon, if I can help you with your real estate needs.
